So after enjoying the #2 Platinum Maduros I won a few of the #1 Cammies on Cbid.
These were only a day removed from the truck but I just laid them out in my house (which is extremely dry to to the low temps around) so I decided to indulge.
Well going to such a dry athmosphere so quickly caused the wrapper to flake a little bit. Lesson learned, but I was still ready to smoke.
I clipped it and sparked it in the car and was on my way.
As the small end caugh fire I was rewarded with nice amounts of cool, delicious smoke. This cigar had overtones of sweetness and I was very pleased to find out the Cammie is just as flavorful as the Maduro! YUM!
Now this wasn't so much of a roasted ocffee flavor as a sweeter, almost fruity flavor. As I smoked it down to the thicker part (its a perfect shape) the flavor git stronger and stronger. The ash hed together extremely well and was very white.
As the burn approached the widest part the smoke became a bit overpowering. Like with the perfecto shape they had to compromise to make it taste good at the ends the middle was going to be a bit strong. Now granted a) the cigar was a bit dry and b) this was the part where the wrapper was flaking, so the smoke from this area was all binder and filler and almost zero wrapper. So that might have had an effect.
As I smoked it down, if I strained I could taste that sweetish taste through the harshness, but it was like trying hard to recall a fond memory that is fading and becoming less and less vivid as life goes on.
That was basically the only point of continuing to smoke..those hints of flavor from the beginning of the cigar. After I passed the hump I realized I was graspign at straws and threw the sucker out.
Overall a pleasant smoke, but the beginning kind of spoiled me. I will try another that has had time to rest and isn't unraveling!
