I was invited to a cigar rolling event at Lonsdale's in Scottsdale Arizona this morning to watch how wrapping is done. Very cool. They brought in a guy from the Dominican Republic to roll La Aurora 1495's. It was awesome to see how they have this down. Anyway, for going, I got to have one of these monsters for free (they said it would've been like $16) and asked when I should smoke it. The shop owner said smoke it today or wait at least 2 months. Being I've not had a fresh one, I went for it today.

This smoke was AMAZING! I have not been a fan of natural wraps but this one captured me from light to nub. It was like smoking a stick of butter (if I could say it that way). Soft and smooth, not tons of flavor but very enjoyable. Consistent all the way to the end. Thumbs up for a cool day.

Sounds like a tasty smoke. I like the 1495s. I would love to try a fresh one someday. I have heard about a couple of rolling events to feature the 1495, I just have not been able to make it.

Yeah absolutely! I would love the chance to try one of those rolled fresh.

Any one of you experience smoker, cigar connoisseur, out there that can suggest for me a fresh-rolled cigar (0-3 months old) that is good to excellent, domestic (meaning non-ISOM) preferably ? I like to get my hand in some of these fresh-rolled sticks but do not know where to start. My taste profile is medium-plus. Thank you ! :)

Our B&M had a LA fresh-rolled event but NOT 1495! :(

They were still really great cigars but I still feel hurt and confused. :0 NOT :D

In fact, I'm ecstatic having just won a fiver from the evil one of 1495 churchills for $27.

Give the devil his due - there's a reason for his success. Where else you gonna get a deal like that?
