I smoked a King B last night that had about 2 years of age on it. It had a delicious flavor of honey and cedar. Unfortunately, it had one of the worst burns I’ve ever experienced! At one point, it had over an inch difference from one side to the other. I understand that this is common amongst King B’s. Is there another cigar out there with a similar flavor with out the burn problems?

Personally I hated the King B I had, NO flavor at all but it only had 6 or so months of age. But yes ive heard from numerous people that quite a few had some major burn issues so your not in the minority......

Fuente supposedly did some QC on the King B's after burn complaints. From my understanding, they were rushed a little and so possibly yours may have been among the earlier releases. I've smoked one out of a box that I picked up about 6 months ago and didn't have an issue with the burn. As for something like it, I'd say its comparable to a cuban beli but the cb is definatlely not as "sweet" due to the difference between the rosado and sg wrappers. G1

You gotta dry box those bad boys for about a day, then smoke 'em. The burn will stay sharp and the flavor even picks up a little more spice

I much prefer the Cuban Belicoso over the King B.

Here here...Give me the Cuban Belicoso as I have had nothing but bad luck with the King B. I've done everything one can do to help the King B out from Dry boxing 2 days in advance to just smoking them right out of the humidor. I still say give me a Cuban Belicose instead.

Cuban Beli was sent to me by Nate (ndp) after i talked to him about the King B and I loved it. So much better than the B I need to get me a box....

I really like both the King B and the Cuban Beli, But I find them to be very different in flavor. The king B has a sweet taste with a much longer finish, IMO.

I have not noticed any burn problems lately with the King B though. Although, I have started opening boxes, that I intend to store long term. I generally don't smoke a King B before it is a year old....

I can't confess to torching a whole bunch of King "B"'s, but every one has had burn issues. I know the B&M I "frequent through a friend" (figure that one out!!) always keeps both the Cuban Coronas and Beli's on hand, so I'll have to get some and try 'em.
