Due to circumstances beyond my control, I’m forced to increase the price of our beans. The price of a pound will increase by $1.00 and 1/2 lb bags by 50¢.

Our Electric Chair Espresso will be coming down in price from $11.95 to $10.45 per 1/2 lb.

It’s been well over a years since our last price increase and I wish I didn’t have to do this, but with high fuel surcharges, poor currency exchange rates, the Department of Homeland Security is still charging us for every case of roasted beans entering the country and the ever increasing cost of top quality green beans, I have to do this in order to continue to deliver all my client’s the best beans I can.

This price increase will take effect on April 15, 2008.

Jerry,

It's an unfortunate situation, but I think you've handled it in the best possible manner. Also, your price increases are not large enough to warrant your customers to go elsewhere. $1.00 on a LB of coffee is hardly a big deal :). While I have not made a purchase from your company (its kind of hard to purchase coffee when you get free coffee from your employer (Starbucks)!), I would like to say that your beans are top notch! I've been lucky enough to try several of your roasts and I have really enjoyed them. Keep up the great work Jerry!

Thanks guys. This was not a knee jerk reaction on my part, I was going to do it the first of the year but I've held off as long as I can. Just too damned many outside factors including $1.50 per pound in natural gas just to roast.

I really do appreciate your support!!

Not a big deal Jerry. You'll still get my orders regularly!

Hey, Jerry,
We sell coffee as well, so I've been following the commodities markets for a year or so... Do you think the increase comes primarily from fuel/currency exchange, or from trading prices? I think coffee is up 25% in the last 18 months or so on the commodities exchange. We are going to raise our prices as well (unfortunately). I'd like to hear your thoughts. Someone sent me a few of your beans in a trade. Real good! I enjoyed it very much. Thanks,
Mike

Demand is higher and production is lower due to several reasons. Jerry eluded to the fact that his coffee is roasted somewhere out of town or state and shipping prices have increased. The shipping companies will tell you it is fuel prices, honestly I believe it is a combination of factors but fuel is a huge reason. I would be interested in Mr. Jerry's thoughts also since he has been in the business and has a great product.

clicky thang

I left a message for you guys...we'll talk on Friday. There are some things that I don't discuss on line, I'm sure you'll understand. I'll tell you anything you'd like to know.
