Just Purchased My First Humidor

I just ordered my first humidor from humidorvault.com. I am not only a newbie on the forum but to cigars as a whole. It is a small desktop humidor that says it will hold 25-50 sticks depending on size I'm guessing. I have been reading every guide on how to calibrate the hygrometer and how to season the humidor. It is nice that this information is easily obtainable on the forum. The company I ordered from seems kind of slow on their processing and customer service told me it would be shipped out yesterday. Just curious if anyone has dealt with them before or has heard anything about them. I am very new to cigars and I didn't want to start buying a bunch until I had proper storage. Any thoughts on all this?

Put "humidorvault" in the Search feature and a bunch of good threads will pop up. I tried to link you to the search page but failed miserably at it.

Never dealt with them, but I can offer you a word of advice. After you get this baby up and running, do not put your Acids or other flavor infused cigars in there. Store those in an air tight tupperware container. The wood in the humidor will take on the flavored oils from the cigars and end up flavoring any cigar you put in the humidor. Always keep your flavored sticks away from your non-flavored cigars.

Thank you very very much, I did not know this until now and I definitely would have made that mistake. I might just get that 10 dollar 10 cigar humidor that was posted in the retail section of the forum for the acids, I have a feeling once I start to explore other tastes I wont be smoking them too much :)

I wouldn't waste the 10 bucks, honestly. Use a Tupperware you already have, or give them to your buddies :)

You'll just end up with a $10 humidor that smells like Acids.
