Unlike other people who got to go to TJ for that ISOM rolling, I went to a rolling event here in New England with Nick Perdomo. He was very nice, but I can also see why he runs the company a very good salesman. I picked up some ot the estate reserve cameroons which are his daily smokes, after the edicion de silvio's. I was surprised that he would be smoking his 7 dollar smoke as a daily, but people like what they like.

He was also nice enought to sign my humidor. Unfortunetly I was unable to make the dinner tonight where he would be giving people a sneak smoke of the 2006 line of cigars. Oh well maybe some other time.

That is very cool. I was impressed with the new release of the Estate Reserves and with Perdomo as a whole (at the RTDA). I have not been a fan of theirs in the past, but they have moved up considerably in my estimation.

Sounds like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing. :)

Yeah they seem to be getting better or more recognized, I was hoping he would start offering the edicion de silvio in cameroon and maduro but that will be saturday. Interesting sales pitch for the cigar was that it is the only cigar in the world that is 100% deveined. Not sure if this is true, but this is what the rep stated. Can anyone confirm or deny?

What the hell is it, a cigar or a shrimp?

I understand how the filler and binder could be deveined, but not the wrapper. I could see getting the largest veins out, but if you took them all out, it would seem that one would be left with little scraps of tobacco. Hmmmmmm, have to look into this.

I am not sure on the wrapper question as well. He said that the average cigar was 50 to 60% deveined and that was the industry standard. I will inspect the robusto I purchased earlier today and report back what i find.

I got the chance to meet Nick and have pictures done with him at CigarFest. He is a great guy and so are his reps. Al Argenti is the rep we had here in Wisconsin but I think this territory is going to be run by a guy out of Minnesota now.I'll have to break him in gently!!

I posted this back in March, but it's worth a look if you haven't seen it.

I got to meet the Perdomo family at a rolling event and Billy Perdomo even let me roll my own Perdomo! Nick's wife took all the pictures.

Check it out:
