Time to weigh in on Butternut Burley.

Lets hear what you all have to say on this blend.

I guess I'll fire up a bowl tomorrow to refresh my failing memory.

I love this stuff, but a fuller review will be forthcoming.

Just ordered some of this to try. Looking forward to posting up a review! Looking for a nice smooth aromatic to enjoy for the summer that is pleasing for those around me as well, so I have high hopes for this.

Mild, but very good tobacco.

Butternut Burley lets the natural sweetness of the Burley come through while complimenting it with a flavor that almost tastes like pralines. It doesn't burn hot really at all (minimal to no tongue bite) and the room note is fabulous.

This isn't a complex blend and it's not something I smoke a lot, but I do use it for the first few bowls in a new pipe or in an estate that has a strong ghost as it is fairly neutral in that regard. I really like this tobacco quite a bit and recommend it to anyone looking for something mild or to new pipe smokers.

I have found this to be a really nice Burley tobacco. The casing is very light and does not over power the taste of the tobacco. This is going into my rotation as a nice tobacco to enjoy for both myself as well as for those around me. Great blend to have on hand when consideration for those around you is needed.

I just got my order in last night! 8 oz of Butternut Burley bulk. I didn't get home from work until around 1:30 so I was too exhausted to light up a bowl, but possibly if I get out early tonight I will. These 15 hour work days are really taking away from my smoking pleasure!

I actually enjoyed two bowls of this last night. The first was in a Missouri Meerschaum corn cob I bought just to have on hand. I packed it using the Frank Method (which I absolutely swear by now, I didn't have to re-light even once!). It had a pleasant taste and a smoked very cool with no tongue bite. The room note was nice, but not as sweet as some aromatics I have tried. I did get some odd tasting bits but I'm going to chalk that up to it being a new corn cob.

After finishing that bowl, I decided to give the Savinelli briar a try to see how it smoked in that. Definitely a different experience. Again, I packed using the Frank Method and it smoked all the way down with the exception of a few bits that got rather moist at the bottom. I'm really starting to love my Briar. It smoked very well and allowed me to experience this blend the way it should. Alan described it best when he said it has the mild taste of pralines. Again, the room note was mild enough not to be intrusive to others. This would be a great blend to smoke if people are around that are not used to the aroma of pipe smoke. My girlfriend allows me to smoke in the house so I don't have to worry about that, but good to keep in mind if we have guests.

I do like the Butternut Burley a lot. It is nice and subtle and leaves very little aftertaste and what is left is not unpleasant at all. I will hold on to this for those times when I just need a mild smoke or for in the car.
