I've heard a lot about these smokes so I finally bought a single to try, and finally had a chance to light it up and try this sucker. Sat down with a cup of latte at an outdoor cafe in Stockholm to enjoy the cigar and the views of the local talent as they walked by.

Construction was top notch, consistent firm feel with a beautiful triple cap. It had a light barnyard smell and the cut came away clean. Pre-light draw was smooth with very little tabacco debris and a nice aroma and taste. Took a little effort to light it, but I think this has more to do with the light breeze that was present.

Initial draw was wonderfuf, with very little bitterness, lots of smoke and was met with a burnt toast aroma. The flavors that followed were those of coffee and chocolate. It was light bodied, with very consistent flavors throughout the smoke. Burn was very even and the smoke stayed cool all the way down to the nub. The flavors strengthened slightly toward the bottom third of the smoke and the last quarter was very enjoyable as the strength became more to my liking.

I prefer stronger cigars, but this cigar did not dissappoint me though. It was smooth with pleasant flavors and when it strengthened up a bit, it became very enjoyable. It had very little aftertaste and what little there was, did not stick around for very long. A great morning cigar to be enjoyed when you don't want the taste to linger. I definitely will be adding this to the humidor for times when I want a lighter smoke.

Thanks for the review. I have some of these coming from a split. Looking forward to trying one.

Thanks for that review. I have had a few of these and have the same conclusion that they are on the mild side. They do make a great morning cigar as you stated.

Thanks for the review.

I've always enjoyed the JL 1s and 2s....they are very consistent and offer an excellent value.. I always found it amazing that there so many Habana smokers who have not ventured over to try this manufacturer.

I have enjoyed the couple of JL No. 2s that I have smoked. One was several years ago and the other very recently. The most recent one was very young and not up to its potential. A little on the mild side...I agree, great morning cigar.

Now, the JL No. 1 is a different story. Recently got some in a split from 03. WOW...the best CG I've smoked to date. Fuller bodied than the No. 2, toasty, smooth, perfect burn, lots of smoke. Fan-freakin'-tastic.
