Here is a unique special for all you late-night cigar junkies...
We recently just uncovered a few hundred boxes of Dominican Bolivar lanceros in our warehouse, which have been aging since 1994! How does this happen? Well it turns out that most of the boxes were mislabeled “Belicosos Finos,” which is a squat torpedo shape while these cigars are true 6.50 by 36 palma-size parejos. So they were inventoried incorrectly but, due to their incorrect size, they were set aside. Set aside for ten years? Yeah, these things occasionally happen in a warehouse containing 150 million cigars...
I had them send me a box so I could try them out. My box came with the wrong label and, right away, their aroma distinguishes them as decade-aged cigars. They are wrapped in a dusky brown wrapper and have a light woodsy flavor with a subtle finish and soft fragrant aroma. Ten years of aging have made these very mild cigars. I would consider these smokes best suited as morning cigars.
Every time we find these boxes of really old cigars, it is always a debate over how much we should sell them for. Well-aged cigars typically sell for very big dollars but, as you may have noticed, we just can’t bring ourselves to charge a lot for anything. And this time is no different; we are selling them for exactly what we think we spent on them: $50 a box... as supplies last.
