So I jsut put a few boxes of the Ulitmates (Cab 20 and Belicoso in Oscuro) in the humidor, and the humidity instantly spiked to 72%. Are they known for sending cigars out really wet? How long does it usually take until they have calmed down to a smokeable level (I keep my humi at 65%).
It might have to do with the fact that the humidor is new, and not yet fully seasoned.
Yes, for those of you who care (anybody?) I gave up on the frustrating coolerdor, bought a barrister, and filled it up with cigars. Only problem is, now I need a new one. I only have room for like two more boxes. A 100 qt cooler really does give you a lot of storage space.

Yep, they are know for sending cigars wet. Especially, for some strange reason, the JR Ultimates and Ultimate Cabinents. Should take a couple of weeks to stabilize to your humidor level.

Good luck with the barrister. I know a couple of guys here that have them...they love'em. :D

I hear ya. I started out on CP with a desktop. In the first month I had to upgrade to the Barrister (Barrsiter #1). 2-3 months later I was on to Barrister #2. About 2 months ago, #3 showed up. And, sad to say, it too is almost full....

Next step is a coolidor for long-term storage of things not ready to smoke.

Thanks. I had a feeling that wa the case. I put in my beads, a little dish of water, and loaded her up, and was expecting it to take a while to get up to 65% (it's in a pretty dry basement) and BOOM! 72%!! Wow. Them's some wet cigars!

No way. If I need more space, I'll get another barrister. More than that, I'll spend up on a nice cabinet. My foray into the world of coolers was fruistrating and a waste of time. I work too hard to enjoy this hobby too much to let it get fristrating.

i love my coolidors, without them i was lost!

Jr ships his cigars extremely wet. I would recommend leaving them out of your humidor for at least a week. They will put way more humidity than you want in the other cigars in your humidor.

Just want to add my personal experience that JR does indeed store/ship on the wet side.
