Rummaging through our immense warehouse I discovered that we still had thousands of these wonderful black cardboard boxes. Each one measures about 8" x 10" and is about 2 inches high (I woulda measured it if I had a ruler handy). They're covered in this matte black paper (personally I hate glossy paper because it always leaves fingerprints, and if I'm trying to read something that's been printed on glossy paper, sometimes the light reflecting off it makes it almost impossible to read and gives me a splitting headache). Believe me, there's nothing more relaxing than just running your hands over these well made paperboard boxes. And if you're real gentle with them, they'll last for years.

Well, enough dilly-dallying. I know everyone is gonna just scramble to the phone or their computer to order one of these nifty $49.95 boxes because there's a whole lotta people out there that just love cardboard - in fact, on my last visit to Washington, D.C. I saw a lotta people that liked cardboard boxes so much that they actually slept in them. So here's our deal this week:

With every black cardboard box you order for $49.95, we'll throw in over a hundred dollars worth of FREE cigars! Yeah, you read that right... you'll get 4 Montecristo White Churchill's (reg. $10.00 each!) and 4 Cohiba Dominican Churchill's (Reg. $16.50 each!). And just because I know everyone is a little nervous about ordering a cardboard box they've never seen before, I'll even throw in a FREE adjustable Colibri Torch Lighter that's guaranteed to work at least some of the time. :p

lol nothing more relaxing than running your hands over these well made paperboard boxes....too funny! :)

the acid add was also funny

No, these cigars do not
actually contain acid...
...or taste like acid, but the guy who started this brand
probably was on acid when he named it. I used to know
a guy who made a fortune manufacturing all kinds of pills
for bodybuilders, each claiming to build Herculean muscles
after just taking 30 or 40 pills every day for a couple of
months and working out a couple of minutes a day. He
admitted that he had no idea what the pills did, but he
said they had been rigorously tested and “they wouldn’t kill
ya.”
I’m not so sure that Drew Estates actually knows what’s in
these funky cigars
, but, whatever it is, there’s a lot of people
that seem to like it. As an introductory offer, and because I
really have no idea what I’m talking about, we’re taking an
extra $10 a box off any purchase of Acid cigars for the life
of this catalogue.
Surprisingly Normal

I like the way JR's writes their copy. It's a lot better than the bull crap from some of the other catalogs.

I loved his ad as well. I think that Lew has such a following of aficionados that he really doesn't have to worry about offending or turning newbies away (I mean people that have smoked litterally 1 or 2 cigars). It makes reading his catelogs a lot more interesting and he doesn't just spit out crap (all the time...sometimes ;)) like most catelogs do.

Saw this ad as well and thought it was funny. Passed it on to a girl I know that is into scrap booking. Told her I found and awesome box she should order....and pass the cigars on to me :whistling:

I saw this today myself and thought it was funny. I might have to place an order I do love black boxes!!!

I like the sarcastic sense of humor in the copy. I was actually thinking of picking up one or two of the Library Editions - either the Flor de A. Allones or the Montecristo Afrique. Very cool packaging, and possibly a nice looking cigar too.
