The top 50 list continues........
Well, next on the old top 50 list was the little powerhouse known as the Joya De Nicaragua Antano. It has been in my Humi now for about two months waiting for an appropriate time for me to smoke it. As last week was pretty stressful (car shopping...ouch), I decided to take the new auto (an 86 VW vanagon) and drive up the Ocoee river where I could enjoy this stick far from society. I asked Dozer to accompany me on the trip because we hadn't had any time lately just to kick it. We made the 30 minute trip up the river untill all light was gone and only the stars were shining. We pulled over next to the river and lit this baby up...wow. Let me repeat...wow. This cigar packed a spicy punch much stronger than any opus I've ever had! In fact, the taste was so spicy that it was very hard to taste anything but pepper and leather. The draw was fine, and the ash burned very evenly. After about a third of the cigar was through, Dozer and I decided to start heading back because it was begining to get a bit cold outside. (Dozer was smoking a Monte#4...) On the way home, we saw that the little river bar (The Duff) was still open, so we stopped in for "two for tuesday" night and had some Guinness in mason jars. I was still enjoying the smoke very much, but even the Guinness didn't take the edge off. In the end, I wasn't even willing to completely burn it down to the nub, because I felt like I'd smoked three cigars instead of one. After a few drinks, we headed home, and I came in to write this review... So, in conclusion, I would have to say that this stick completely lives up to it's rep as a very strong smoke. It is by far the strongest I've had, and while I am sure there are probably stronger smokes, I've just never had one. I would recommend this cigar to anyone who smokes alot that could enjoy it without getting sick.
