After the Kuba Kuba debacle last night I decided to smoke another cigar to cleanse my palet. I looked into the humidor and picked out I nice little cigar I got recently in a trade (thanks psytek).

A Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 Machito (i think it was a Machito). I expected a nice quick little smoke to relax. Well I relaxed all right. I almost passed out! I was looking for a kiss, not a punch in the jaw. :)

It was a very nice smoke, but man, I didn't know what I was getting myself into. It actually made me a little woozy. I'll do a quick bit of research before I smoke my next unkown cigar so I know what to expect.

These are tastey cigars! Too bad they are way too f'ing strong. I am really considering buying a couple boxes and letting them sit for 5 years. Just too strong for me to enjoy right now. I have been going through a mild phase lately.

Yeah, exactly. I really liked it while I was smoking it.. It started off really peppery but then smoothed out to a nice richness.. I smoked it to the nub. The problem is 15 minutes later I was sick.

Love those Antano.
Smoked a robusto grande i bought from my local cigar shop and the next day i ordered a box of the belicosos.
WOW....second punch-in-your-face smoke i had so far and it was awesome.
My first strong smoke was my first Opus X .........a Petit Lancero :0 .

Dude, I tell you, I came close. I was lying in bed concentrating on breathing in and out and ignoring the urge to hurl. I actually thought about doing it just to make myself feel better. It was a lot like being seasick. Being a pirate I'm sure you know the feeling I mean. :)

I couldn't bring myself to smoke tonight. It might be a while before my next smoke. I know it won't happen again with a different smoke, but for the moment thinking about a cigar makes me think I'll get sick again.

I was looking for a kiss, not a punch in the jaw.

From Tony Bone's review:
Needless to say, the Antano was good in a beat-the-ungawdly-hell-out-of-you-and-leave-you-crying-like-a-little-bitch-over-the-kitchen-sink-type-of-way, but I won't touch another one w/ a ten foot steel pole & someone else's lips.

Wow, these sound like fun. Any have one they'd trade away? Hey Tony, where did you buy it?

This sounds like a "gotta do it" to me :D

You're all madmen! Two reviews of people getting sick makes you want to try them? :)

Maybe we should do a 'cigars that made you sick' box pass. :D
