Mission Pipe Shop Invites You to Meet George Padron of Padron Cigars!!!
As you know by now, we tend to get excited about every event that we hold at Mission Pipe Shop. But I can tell you that THIS is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. After four years of coaxing, George Padron is coming to our cigar shop to meet YOU---our loyal Padron smokers.
On Thursday, March 19th, between 4 and 8 p.m., come meet the man who continues to bring us some of the most highly ranked and coveted cigars in the world. After founding Padron Cigars on September 8, 1964 in Little Havana, Florida, the Padron Family has experienced both great success and significant obstacles. Fourteen years after leaving Cuba, Jose Padron returned to Cuba to ask Fidel Castro to release political prisoners. Over the next five years, Padron's Florida headquarters were bombed four times. In 1985, President Reagan declared an embargo against Nicaragua and Padron was forced to shift all production to Honduras for five years until the embargo was lifted. In 1998, Hurricane Mitch destroyed most of Nicaragua, including Padron's Paso Real Farm. Despite these setbacks, George Padron and his family continue to produce some of the finest quality cigars in the world. In celebration of their 30th anniversary, Padron created the 1964 Anniversary Series. And in 2002, Padron released the 1926 Anniversary Series commemorating Jose Padron's 75th birthday. Three years ago, in celebration of their 40th anniversary, Padron released the 40th Anniversario (which was ranked best cigar of the year by Cigar Aficionado). Last year, they released the highly coveted 80th Anniversario. Mission Pipe Shop is honored to carry ALL of these cigars along with the line that remains the 'bread and butter' of Padron Cigars (the 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, and 7000).
