Tonight I was on the fence about what to smoke. I debated many different sticks, but when I opened my humidor this oily little beauty called my name. It had a nice barnyard smell when I sniffed the foot. It was firm when squeezed with a slight give. Off to my usual smoking locataion I went.
I clipped the pigtail cap and took my pre-light draw. Only the slightest resistance, perfect. I note a light chocolate with the tobacco flavor. I roasted the foot to a nice orange glow and take a few puffs. My first long draw I get a nice spice on the back of the throat. I also detected a nice chocolate and notes of vanilla in the aftertaste.
As I progressed into the second third, the chocolate subsided. The spice moved up the tongue and a rich tobacco flavor took over. At risk of ashing on myself, I let the ash hang on as long as possible. It was at the half way point that it finally fell with a satisfying thud (thankfully not on me as usually happens).
The final third was dominated by rich tobacco. Some minor notes of hay were present and vanilla was there in the aftertaste. The spice continued but was not overpowering. The finish was smooth and lasting.
Another great smoke John! It complimented a beautiful Friday night wonderfully. I wasn't planning on reviewing this cigar, but as I watched the stars, and wispy clouds I was unable to think of much other than the wonderful cigar I was smoking. I also saw a few shooting stars. What a great night. Please forgive the poor picture quality, I used my phone...
