It's Alive...

Really, that is it....I don't get.

All that money, all the bravado....

and it ends up looking like something that was made on a free-ware site builder.

Well, I for one, am glad I hang my hat here.

They even lie to themselves:

"Most Puffer Fishes ever online was 1,338, 06-27-2007 at 11:12 AM."

The place didn't even exist in 2007. Pathetic.

I don't think we should be so quick to dismiss the place. It does have its purpose in the overall cigar community... :D

Had a Club Stogie account there that I never used, I updated it, and have it bookmarked as an alternative contact channel if any asshattery ensues that I need to take care of. Otherwise, adblocker works if I ever go there again.

That's just horrible. What a poorly designed interface!

All that money he spent, you'd think he could afford WoltLab Burning Board 2.3.4. And someone to design it.

Rod,

I have enjoyed the freedom of a good cigar from time to time. I have enjoyed the freedom to chose the cigar info I see fit based on TRUE brothers of the leaf whom I respect.

Please keep this site safe from the PUFF MONSTER.

I will gladly donate to it's (CP) and my freedom.

Wow just saw it. Awful. THe guys at Club Stogie are not gonna like that at all. Cigar Live hasn't migrated yet. How many boards did he buy wand which ones? Brace yourself for an onslaught here.

And thanks Rod for keeping us away from the puffer fish.

Not really surprised at the way it looks and feels. They basically took Club Stogie and put a new face on it, without any real changes. I thought this guy knew a thing or two, looks like a third rate attempt at making a web page.

Having been a member a CS for a while, I'm surprised that more people haven't freaked out.

The site is designed with advertising revenue in mind, hence the reason for so many ads. With all the hype, I was expecting something more dramatic. I believe the remaining sites/forums that he purchased will be merged by the end of the month. Sadly, I see this as a way to make a quick buck - buy up as many forums as possible, load the site with ads, and hopefully make a few bucks within the first couple of years. We'll see how long it lasts.
