So I've seen this all over the site. ISOM and N/C. I'm wondering what this means. I'm guessing the N/C means Non Cuban, but what about the other.

thanks
E

Yeah, it's slang for a Cuban cigar. I don't like the term and think it's kind of silly. More often than not, I call them "Havanas" or just plain "Cuban cigars" or "Cubans"

Here, here. I've always hated that term and never used it myself. They'll always be Havana cigars to me.

I've often wondered who we think we're fooling when we call them isoms instead of Havanas, Habanos, Cubans or whatever.

Or did the guise of that word fall away a long time ago and now it's just another nickname.

I personally don't like any of those cutesie pie terms...ISOM is not only annoying, but is insulting to the people and culture of Cuba.

The newest one I've come across, apparently refers to a domestic cigar as a INOM...

OK so what is this in reference to? Nantucket, Manhatten, Long Island, Rhode Island, or maybe Newfoundland?

I just don't know...
