gifted by a customer whos wife had a baby. said cigar is circa 2004.

beautiful smooth brown wrapper. pre lite draw was kinda coffee/licorice.
fired it up and right away tasted a nice spice,no real woodsy flavors.
after about 5 or 6 pulls, as the ash began to grow i became concerned this could be a fake. since ive never had this cigar before i dont know, but the wrapper ash was black as coal while the center ash was almost pure white. is this the nature of this cigar?

very even burn nice med. draw. the flavor kinda fluxuated between a coffee and cream then started to pick up some mild cedar and white pepper. still the coal black outer ash. this is really bothering me, ive never seen an ash this color.

medium body, very enjoyable flavors, some similar to the sigloVI i had once.

im still a newbie when it comes to isoms so my comparisons are limited.

first ash stayed for about an inch, second ash a lot longer than that.very firm ash, almost impossible to gently coax the ash off the end of the cigar.
the finish grew a little strong but not bitter, strong unsweet chocolate.

as far as how much i liked tis cigar its like this: better than almost any nc ive ever had. not as good in my opinion as the sigloVI i had. i know theyre 2 dirfferent cigars but given a choice id choose the siglo.

if it was a fake i really dont care.i truly enjoyed it. i would like some pro opinions on the information i provided as to authenticity.especially about the ash color. :D

to sum up i smoked her to the nub and cant wait to smoke a few more of these.

id say 9 on a 10 scale.

ive got pictures of various stages of the smoke, will post upon request :D

The cap looks good, and ash is classic Cuban... that black/grey looks identical to any i have blazed. Ash takes time to drop too, almost doesnt want to drop...looks the the real deal

thanks for the info, i work in a cigar shop and am versed on construction, seen my fair share.its the ash that was bothering me. but am glad to hear that this was typical of the real deal. i didnt really doubt the giver about the authenticity but ya never know. my only regret is that it'll be a long time before i get to burn another one of these beauties

My guess is that it was genuine but really the ONLY way to tell is by smoking it.

When I was newer to Cuban cigars, I couldn't tell the real from the fakes but after smoking quite a few and now that I know what they're SUPPOSED to taste like, it's pretty easy to taste a fake ;)

Once you smoke more real Havanas, you'll be able to tell too.

Looks real to me and if you liked it it was probably real.

The ash on every Hanbana I have smoked was identical to yours.

Glad you enjoyed it.
