ok, have a few smokes that need to get into a humi (tuppi) LOL.....if you have read any of my other post you will know that I have no guages or humidifers to use, but i still need to maintain something close to right in the the Tuppi

any ideas

I do have in the mail, either now or soon, some beads and a real Humi....THX GUYS (you know who you are)
as well as the first stash from the wife, and have just entered into a newbi trade with a member

but need a fix for now

Some digital thingamabob to check your humi is on its way also. Sorry couldn't get you a refrigeration unit, but if you are crafty enough maybe some supply troop can hook you up.

Cheers

no need for chillin' it stays around 70-75 in my room where i live.

I have placed a ziplock, with a small corner removed, and damp paper towel in the tuppi, i am guessing that RH is below 50 in my room, hope this is not over kill, also have some of the thin cedar inserts from the tubes to help maintain the RH, should get some cigar box material in a day or so

Sometimes putting in dry cedar will bring down the RH as it absorbs moisture. With that said I have had luck with using a piece of sponge (clean, never used sponge) in a shot glass with some distilled water. Just enough water to moisten the sponge. Put that in the cheapest gladware esque container you can buy at the markets and thats it. The neat thing I find with a tuppador is that by using beads it maintians RH wonderfully and when opened and closed will return to target RH very quickly.

working on getting distilled water as we speak

BUT, the little PX (store for you civ's) is out of sponges, weird???, i tell you though, i am not sure what the RH is in the tuppy, but the smokes sure smell better now...or maybe it is because they are closed up in there. From all the good things that I am hearing some of the members are doing there best to get me setteled with some good stuff
