Introducing the Puck™!

Mark,

One question though. I seem to recall the bead guys saying that you should not get liquid water on the beads or else they'll crack. But the instructions for the HP say to soak it completely. Could you clear up why it would be ok in one case and not the other if the materials are the same?

Wilkey

well then I'm sure it works great because my beads work awesome!

Correct, over saturating the beads may cause them to split (which doesn't effect their performance though).

The instructions for the Humidi-Puck™ say to hydrate the Humidi-Foam™ not the beads but you can do either - the foam was to make it easier for those not familiar with the beads. (ie anyone not on a board  )

Hope this helps

I also have one little concern, and it is the reason I went to a tube in my travel humi. I had the crappy hockey puck, and if I had a bunch of fat cigars, and had to squweexe the humi closed a little bit, I have had water seep out and ruin a wrapper.
Has anything like this been noticed withthe humi-puck? Now that I think of it, has anyone else ever noticed this with oasis type foam?

I had the same problem with exisiting "floral" or "oasis" foam humidifiers.

I started using the "prototype" last fall and haven't had the problem you describe. Because the beads absorb a lot of the moisture from the foam, it is a lot less likely to occur with Humidi-Puck™ but I imagine that if one was to over saturate the Humidi-Foam™ that it is entirely possible.

Mark,
Glad that you finally rolled out the new product!
It was driving me crazy not being able to talk about it after being given a peek at the prototype at the Schlesinger's herf.
Now if I had an otterbox I'd pick one of those bad boys up!
Good luck with the Humidi-Puck™!

Thanks Rob!

My little demo for you didn't go very well - I should include in the instructions:

Do not operate the Humidi-Puck while intoxicated! :p

Hi Mark,

The 15 count otterbox arrived today along with the bobken's that really was a quick turnaround, thanks. (BTW, that's 5 count bigger than tangomar's 10 count)
