On my way to work tonight i stopped at my local liquer/humidor and grabbed a soda. I try to give as much business to the local humidor as i can.Anyways on my way out the door the owner tells me he owes me a late new years gift for being a good customer. He procedes to tell me he has a rare box of fuentes in the back.
He did not know what as far as anejos or opus but just so i did not look to excited i told him thats something i'm usually trying to find an entire box of. Thats exactly what he wanted is to sell the works :D .Since i live in a small town on the lake they usually dont just have the really good stuff in stock so this sounds like an golden opportunity( yaya spelling). I only had a couple of minutes so I have to go back tommorow to see what they are...wooohoo.Dont get me wrong it is an extremely nice place with a walk in and some really nice stuff but the best he usually keeps around is like Don Carlos and hemi's just due to space and overhead.
What i need to know since it has to be either anejos or opus is there a decent place to get prices for the above that would be what you would normally expect to pay by the box without being gouged? Since you are my botls expect to see some of the sticks in the trade area and in passes so i need to get as low a price as possible. :cool: Thanks guys
 
Last year: Don Carlos Doble Robusto $185 or so
Anejo 55 $213

Both of these from a local shop. This year they had neither size. :(
 
thanks, I have a few of the 55's left from the christmas boom. Once I find out monday what they are i'll post and maybe i can get an good idea what there worth.

You are an marine or sailor right?

It was a box of double robustos but i had a choice of almost all the don carlos line. He has the same deal with vsg's now and almost all the sizes again. The nice thing is the box i picked was a year old already :cool:
 
Actually thought about picking up all the vsgs and breaking them into fivers or something I'd have to have a **** load of interest before i would do that though.
