Best value Havanas in the UK!

The UK must have CDN type tobacco taxes.

The UK has huge taxes and tarriffs. That is the reason for the high prices. They also probably receive the highest quality Cuban cigars in the world. Also, might want to take out the name of the other vendor. Not good for members to name sources and it is kind of tacky to make the direct comparison.

Jabba - this has been discussed and brought up many times in the past. It would be wise to edit out the name of the other vendor.

You should too :sign:  j/k

I don't see why. Both vendors are listed on the vendor page here at CP. What's the harm?

I’ve been thinking that very thing myself; we come down on any vendor or person here with questions about their products and prices while making comparisons to other companies who advertise here but when it comes to isom’s one cant even post a question to the company’s advertisement. Only thing I can presume is its one of the unwritten rules so its best to follow in form.

I think the general idea is for anyone who lives in a place where Cuban cigars are illegal to not endorse or appear to endorse a vendor. And it's been done like this before you or I came here to this site, and it's not my place to think I can come in here and just start changing long standing rules. Is it yours? This is the degradation of the site and the way it's been here for so long that I believe some of the FOG's have been complaining about.

Or you all can go ahead and start naming vendors, then tell all your freinds too, and have everyone who doesn't have a clue start ordering from these vendors and telling all their freinds, then one day you'd like to order a box of cigars and either the vendor is out of stock because all these punks who think they are entitled have already bought them, or the fine folks at customs have figured this all out and started nabbing all the shipments, and these vendors have now gone out of business.

I understand Gonz, but the actual vendor posted a message on the board, so that's one "source" that is already out there for any person who "doesn't have a clue". It's also not very difficult for someone browsing the site to click on the huge banner that says "Reputable Online Cigar Vendors (click here)" Isn't that the whole point of vendors paying money to advertise on this site -- to get as many new customers as possible? You seem to think it's a huge secret when in actual fact it's advertised in front of anyone and everyone that is browsing this site.

Edited for mistakes.

I don't seem to think that, every older wiser member that came down on me when I tried to explain the same thing that you are thinks that. For example the time I posted a link to a picture that was on one of those vendor's sites. Of course someone could just click the banner and check it out for themselves, but that's not the way it's done here!

Perhaps someone who gets a little more respect than myself could jump in here and explain it? I feel like a damn 3rd grader, who has to go get his older brother to say it's so before anyone will listen!

Well, it looks like we've yet again done a fine job of ruining this vendor's thread.

And I'll add that it's one thing for a passer-by to click on a banner ad, it's a completely different thing for them to see the same vendor being discussed in a thread where members are giving them any type of endorsement.

I'm willing to bet that’s the main reason, thanks for clearing it up gonz.

Gonz, vendors pay to be advertised on the site. I'm pretty sure they would love to have people discussing them since it could improve their business.

How is clicking on a vendor's banner ad from this site any different then getting an endorsement from a member here. The very fact that the vendor HAS a banner is an endorsement from CP itself for that vendor. CP is basically saying, here's a list of vendors that the site approves, which is by definition an endorsement of those vendors.

I agreed up until this statement. No, a banner ad says "I paid to be included." Not "CP endorses this vendor or their product."
Of course, this is all MHO.

Well, if you actually click on the link, you'll see a nice write up and backing of the vendors listed as all being very good to deal with. That's not an endorsement?

Zee just don’t get voted off the island…

OK, guys, I'll give this a try. Someone who can better explain, please help me out.

The companies that advertise on CP do so legally. It is legal for them to advertise and sell Cuban cigars. CP has these sites as sponsors legally, since CP is not buying Cuban cigars from them. You guys from Canada and the rest of the world can buy Cuban cigars legally. So far, you see a trend here...it is all legal.

Now, we in the US cannot buy Cuban cigars legally. It is against CP rules and downright foolish for us to discuss these sources in an open forum. I know, I know...what's the big deal...is the man really browsing web sites? I don't know and neither do you, so choose the side of caution. DON'T DISCUSS OR ENDORSE CUBAN CIGAR SOURCES ON THE OPEN FORUM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Sorry to shout, but the message needs to get across.

It does not matter if you think it is the same as the vendor posting...it's not. Exceptions cannot be made for members from other parts of the world on the board...it would get too confusing. Just don't do it. It's that simple.

Brandon just topped the SOURCES thread under the Isle of Cuba sub-forum...read it.

the best thing about this embargo is I can go to Varadero all inclusive for $800... I'm sure that would change fast if the embargo was dropped

a big  to the US government for giving us canucks a kick ass cheap vacation destination. j/k

Man what a low blow. I'd kill to be able to walk into my local b&m and pick up a few crates of CAO moontrace...
