This is my first review of a cigar here at CP, and it's an interesting cigar.
This cigar was custom rolled by Phil (Insight) on Sunday afternoon at our local shop. The Filler, Binder, and Wrapper are all from a Tatuaje Especiale Lancero, but the wrapper was messed up on the Tat, so Phil used a double wrap of a Fuente Sungrown wrapper to try and fix it.
The cigar resembled a cheroot from cigar international, if anyone knows what that is. It was falling apart, and appeared to be wrapped in leaves found in someones yard. It was full of veins and was expertly rolled. No glue was used to secure the sungrown wrapper, so it was a real pain in the ass to try and smoke and hold the wrapper together at the same time.
It was standard Tat Especiale lancero size, maybe about a 42 or 44 ring by 7 inches or so in length. The only difference was the delicious looking wrapper that looked like rags hanging all over the place.
The prelight draw was suprisingly descent. I toasted the cigar, and the loose wrapper almost flared up, but once it got burning the ash held on very nicely and burned very evenly.
As I continued smoking the cigar, there was a huge vein near the cap that made it possible for me to only draw in about half smoke and half air, so I had to take about 8 puffs to get the thing going or smoke it at an angle, but the flavor wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. There was subtle notes of earth and perhaps spice, but also there was some weird acrid taste that was noticable every few puffs.
Aside from the pieces of leaf that continously came off in my mouth and the unknown gritty substance I had to keep spitting out, it was suprisingly good. The ash held on about 1.5 inches into the smoke. At this point it went out and I decided to abandon this custom creation in fear of setting myself on fire from the falling debris.
Overall a very crappy smoke.

And thanks to Phil for the memorable experience! :whistling:
