Well, since no one wanted to smoke with me this past week, I took upon myself to find my own friends. *Pr__ks* Just kidding. I did however want to give credit where it is due. Thursday evening while my wife and her hot coworker were up in Indy visiting me, we took the opportunity to visit a place just NW of the city.
We arrived at the Cabana Room restaurant at about 5pm. Nicely decorated and warming, were met by our server, Julie I believe, was very pleasant, and gave some wonderful insight as to what she recomended.
Our appetizer consisted of:
Spinach & Artichoke Dip. This is quite possibly the best I have had. As Julie explained, all the selections are made from scratch in the kitchen, and it shows.
Dinner for the wife and I was:
Cabana Ribeye. Hot damn is all I can say about that, we asked for ours with the Cabana Island Spice that they offer. It was prepared exactly as we asked, pink in all the right places, and the taste was incredible.
Oven Baked Tilapia. Wow, it is crusted with walnuts and drizzled with a chipotle cream sauce.
We split the main courses, while we each enjoyed the side items of our choice. I am not one to eat tomato soup by any means, but Thursday night, the special was a Tomato Basil soup. I will visit next Thursday again in hopes that this is a every Thursday special. In addition, I had the house ceasar salad, again, nothing could be done wrong at the Cabana Room.
Honestly, I can't recall what our friend had for dinner, as I was really into my own.
Dinner with a bottle of wine, and longleck beer for our friend came to 75 dollars plus tip. Some of the best 75 I've had the opportunity to spend on food.
After dinner, we made our way to the adjacent area, the "My Favorite Cigar and Bar". Class act establishment. Wifey and friend made their way to an overstuffed leather sofa while I chose my smoke of the evening. I stopped by the full bar to order a Woodford on the rocks, and spent the next hour in herfing bliss. With ample seating and tvs, the time spent with friends makes all other worries a thing of the past.
I would like to take this chance to thank the owners of the Cabana Room and My Favorite Cigar and Bar for their hospitality and warm inviting environment.
If anyone is headed to Indianapolis and would like to visit the restaurant and bar, PM me for further details.
