Hi Guys,
I know it's been a while since i've posted in the forum, but I've been enjoying my Italias as well as the many truly magnificent cigars that i've acquired through trades. Last night I smoked an Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Maduro that I really enjoyed. It was quite tasty, but for my n00bie pallate it was a little too overpowering. Can anyone recommend for me a cigar that has an equivalent taste but isn't quite so overpowering. In otherwords, if the power of the fuper fuerte is a 10, i'm loking for something that tastes similar but only punches my pallate at about a 7 or 8. Let me know what you suggest.

You could try to get your hands on some Edges from Rocky Patel aka Indian Tabac. Some La Flor Domincana's can give you what you want. But I would warn ya to stay away from The Chisel, the double liegro one. I  that cigar.

I just smoked one of Indian Tabac cigars last night. Torpedo shape and light in wrap. Taste was very good. I cant remember which one it was tho. I have so many of his cigars in my humidor they are just a big blur any more.

Any thoughts on their "cameroon legend"?

Cameroon legends are okay, but in my opinion you've already smoked the best that Indian Tabac offers which is the Super Fuerte Maduro. If your looking for a similar smoke that isn't quite as full bodied try the Indian Tabac Classic maduro, a bit easier on the wallet as well. Enjoy!

I don't have as much experience as others here, but I would agree with the IT Classic maduro. This is one of my favorites (I also have an inexperienced palate). I do enjoy the Super Fuertes when I'm in the mood for something with some more ass kick to it, though.

I've not found a Rocky Patel offering I haven't enjoyed, but I am new to the hobby.

There is some nice Edges to from Rocky that could fit the bill.

I have to agree.

While I enjoy most of the IT line-up, the Super Fuerte Maduro is an awesome smoke and the best of the bunch, IMO. You should give the IT Classic Maduro a shot if you're looking for a small step down on the "fullness" scale.

I'm stuck on the Vintage 1992.....
Not too sure of the Rest of the Tabac stuff, But if it is Rocky's Stuff, it cant be all bad.. Try a Vintage Either 1990 or 1992..

Its his, but not made as his cigar factory so he doesnt have the control over its production like he does the IT. General Cigars does. :(

Mr. Peat,

I would guess that the mellow smokes of his are the classic line. I like them for a mild smoke, good flavor and not a whole lot of bite. The Classic Boxer is a great mellow short cigar, IMHO.
But then again it could have been "The Edge Lite" torpedo. However those are?

Isn't he making a new line called the Connecticut, or some such? I think it's touted as being a smooth, mild smoke. Almost looked like a Macanudoo... :D

It was a torpedo but I cant remember what it was. It had the color of a Dunhill it was that light in color. I had kept it from when i was in Honduras. It was a pretty good smoke.

I've heard the the Rocky Edge cigars are either a hit or miss. The 1st production of the Rocky Edge was really good. But I've heard that some people are having issues with the newer Edge production cigars. I am curious to find out what the real story about this is.

I've smoked the 1990 and 1992 Rocky Patel Maduros and they are excellent cigars. But I am keeping away from the Edge cigars because I don't know whether or not I am going to get a decent production run Edge cigar.
Maybe some of the guys in here might know something about the problems that Rocky is having with the Edge cigars.

I Have YET to find a Bad or Poor Cigar From Rocky Patel's Lines...
But My Favorite is the 1992 Vintage, and the Aroma seems to NOT upset folks at the Coffee Shop "Much"..

I havent had a bad Rocky Patel cigar from any line...But I have seen some that didnt have a good draw and even one tossed by Rocky himself. :0
