What do you guys think of Indian Tabac's classic cigars? Good cheap smoke? Good golf `gars? How are the maduros?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

-Aaron

I have some Indian Tabac Super Feurte and they are a very good cheep smoke( after a few months Humi time)

 I love the Super Fuerte after atleast 3 months sit time, they are smooth and rich. The classic line is good, but if given the option, the SF is the way to go IMO. I feel that they are alot of a lighter smoke also.

Will these guys knock me on my a*$? Super Fuerte always scares me away....but if its all in name and i wont get a nicotine buzz...I would try em. Whatcha think? I like medium cigars, but I cannot stand that buzz. I know some people like it..but I just get sick from it.

Also- How much would you pay for a 5er of these? I'm guessing the devil site will be the cheapest.

I've only had the SF Maduro and did not find them to be too strong. I don't like anything that knocks me on my ass, but what knocks you on your ass may not be the same the thing.

I like the Classics alright. They're not spectacular, but I don't find them offensive in any way. I usually have them while mowing, fishing, or working out in the garage. I wouldn't call them strong at all, but they've got some flavor to them.

They shouldn't be any more than $50 a box I would guess. I bought a bunch of fivers of the Boxers a while ago when they were $8 per (EDITED TO ADD: $8.40 at Famous right now), but I haven't bought a box (or any other size) in awhile.

If you want milder, the IT Ltd. Reserve is pretty good, but a little more $.

Do not be fooled by the name
They are a good, Not overly strong smoke.
But they need Humi time.
I paid US$56 for a box of 25 robustos plus 5 free robustos.
Which IMHO is very well priced.
Well worth trying :D

....the lone voice of dissent checks in.....

I've tried several and they didn't do a thing for me. The construction was very good, really good actually. But the taste, to me, was very one dimensional and flat. No spice, no complexity, nada. They weren't offensive, just nothing to really recommend them by.

My $00.02 - B.B.S.

I tend to concur BBS. It has been absolutely ages since I've had an Indian Tabac stick. At one point in time, I tried them all, even going for the "Diesel Corrision" Rocky put out, as well as those triple-fermented sticks..."Fire" I think they were called. I guess those IT's are not an altogether bad smoke...just...not quite good. Rocky has just put out far better sticks since then. And, for the price, I would probably go for Connies over the IT's.

And no, as long as you don't have some vastly lower threshold level, those IT's will not knock you on your ass.

The strength on the SF isn't that high, I don't remember ever smoking one and feeling like i was going to fall on my ass. Yes, they are one dimensional, but on a day or night where you want to just relax and not have to think about anything, i find them to be good. The last box i bought was off of Cbid and cost me around 30-35 shipped for 25.

Call me a Padron whore, but you can buy 2K's in regular and maduro for low $60's a box, on sale. That's my "low end / go to" smoke, anymore. Let 'em sit still for a year and you cannot believe how good these very reasonably priced cigars smoke. I have yet to find anything close for the price, though I keep looking.....

FWIW - YMMV - etc......B.B.S.

You're exactly right. And, I too have pretty much anything in the "thousands" series of Padron on my low-end go to list. Always keep some on hand, and you can't go wrong with those. I love 'em. Same with Puros Indios.

Call me a Padron whore,
You're a Padron whore. But that's okay, you're not alone. As for the Indian Tabac classics, I got a fiver on C-Bid not too long ago and find that they're acceptable cigars. Pleasant taste, though not a slap-my-ass-and-call-me-Sally taste. For the price range, they're fair.

The Classic BOXER was my first favorite cheap smoke... still revisit for old time's sake!

I found both the Fire and super fuertes to be only so-so. Maybe they would be better with some resting time--I smoked them soon after purchase. But I'm looking for better sticks in the same price range. You guys had some good ideas, thanks.

I find the Fuente Chateau's on sale now and then for between $50 and $60 a box. They have a lot more flavor than the Indian Tabac's classic IMHO...

I don't particularly care for the classic IT's -- come are even downright bad. But as several have mentioned, the Super Fuerte Maddies are very nice. Good cigar at a good price, IMO.

So I had my first Indian Tabac. It was a super fuerte maduro. As I'm new I'll go ahead and try my hand at a review.

Nice firm feel. A little veiny. Right away the smell told me that it wouldn't be an intense smoke but that is what I was looking for. I was worried that the draw would be a bit tight considering how solid the stick felt.

I completely agree with the above comments about it being one dimensional. It is probably going to become my Golf Cigar because of this fact. It lights very well and was extremely consistant in both flavor and burn. Mainly an earthy flavor with a little sweetness. I did find that if you smoked it too fast the flavor turns south. It is definitely a leisurely smoke.

Even down to the last 2 and a half inches the flavor remained the same. While part of me really hoped there was more to this I did find myself enjoying it if that makes any sense.

Overall a good value buy if you are looking for reliable. I have a few more but I think I will let them rest a few more months to see if it changes things.

I did a split with some co-workers on Indian Tabac. It did nothing for me, quite boring.
I'll never buy this again, no matter how cheap they are.

when have you found Padron's on sale? I wish i had that luck. Even so, at $80 a box, they are still a good deal.

Remember that post was form over a year ago. Prices have increased since then. I can find them <$80 all day long, but nowhere near $60 anymore.
