In remembrance of a long forgotten blend

Many of you may remember the old blend from lane: Crown Achievement. Unfortunately you know that Crown Achievement was discontinued quite some years ago.
For those of you unfamiliar with this blend crown Achievement was a good mild sweet Latakia blend that was sold in bulk at a relitivley low price. Personally I rather enjoyed the Crown and was dismayed when it was discontinued. Fortunately I have recently discovered the counter part to it. This new blend is sold by Altadis and is called ca 100. I found this on the internet at the Cup of Something website, hopefully that gives it away. Following is my review of the ca 100.

Ca 100 the new counterpart to the Original Crown Achievement is a cool smoking Latakia blend, with a mild body. This blend has mild undertones of virginia and a predominate flavor of the latakia with no mention of burley or spice. This is a fairly simple blend finishing with the same flavor that it started with, and burns a gray ash. The smell is a mild room note of latakia and virginia, and is available in a shag bulk only, to my knowledge, and runs very inexpensive at roughly 2.49 per ounce. over all this is a good everyday quick burning tobacco that I am glad to have discovered and will buy much more off.

This blend is so unbelievably close to the Original Crown that I would venture to say if you have smoked Crown and liked it then this will be a blend that will be un-noticeably different.

For those who are new to pipes this is an excellent starter latakia, as it burns very cool and is very smooth.

happy smoking,

Interesting. I do remember smoking Crown Achievement ages ago but I recall buying it in round tins. I'll have to check the Altadis blend out. Thanks for the info.
