In honor of a post in another topic regarding smoking more than collecting, I lit up a new cigar tonight that I had never tried before. I recieved this as part of a newbie trade. Here's some notes on what I thought...
Appearance and construction
Beautiful looking cigar. Flawless wrapper and just overall great looking construction. A very nice inital pull which lasted throughout the cigar. I was able to get a lot of smoke and no noticable tight spots or plugs. I also could taste just the right amount of oil on my lips from the wrapper as I puffed away.
Flavor
I didn't get any distinct flavors out of the cigar (probably more to my young palete). I think the biggest thing that came through was just how creamy and smooth the cigar tasted. I also appreciated just how consist the cigar was. The flavor I tasted with the first puff was what I tasted at the very end. The only difference was towards the end you could definitely tell the strength increase in the cigar. In my opinion that's how a cigar should be. The first half or so of the cigar was pretty mild. Then toward the end of the second half I got a bit more of a punch. This is by no means a full bodied cigar. I would say more mild to medium. Still a very very enoyable smoke.
