Tonight I went to my local B&M (to watched the KU Jayhawks stomp the K-State Wildcats) and enjoyed a delicious Illusione 68, the Bombone. It's a 4x44 and this little guy definitely packed a punch! I was looking in the $10 range but I realized this was one of the only Illusione's I have not tried so I got it instead.
Wrapper - Nicaragua
Filler - Nicaragua
This cigar pre-light felt beautiful in my hand. The construction seemed flawless. Upon cutting the draw seemed prefect and I picked up quite a bit sweetness.
Upon lighting the cigar there was a good amount of smoke from this stick. I picked upon the pepper flavors of this smoke right away as it tingled my palate. As I got through the first third of this cigar the pepper flavors took a back seat to what I recognized as a creamy sweetness.
The second third of this cigar remained very consistent. I picked up alot of the same creamy sweetness along with some earthy notes. The ash on this little guy held very strong for a long time, and the construction and burn remained for strong. I defenitely did not expect such a big punch from this little cigar. I was very pleased!
The final third to this smoke I began again to pick up on a lot of peppery flavor. Not quite as much as when it was first lit, but it was still a very strong final.
Conclusion - This little guy was a very good smoke. For the $5.50 price tag I paid for I will definitely go back to this stick again. All I can say is this little guy packed one hell of a punch!
Cheers! Hope this is a good first review!
