Well over the weekend I had the chance to smoke a cple cigars at the horse track.
First cigar I smoked was an Iguana Robusto.
initial impression was poor quality control...the luminescent green candela wrapper was very thin..and cracking in certain areas..I beleive it was due to poor storage.. It was gifted to me so I wont complain.. I let it sit in my humi for a while..with the hopes of restoring this cigar..
Prelight aroma was very sweet with a nice smell of tobacco..not too overpowering..
I lit it up using my torch..it lit up very easily..and burned pretty even.. Very very mild smoke..hardly any smoke at IDLE..once you puffed on it you would get a nice stack of whiteish/blue smoke..the Ash was a nice tight whitish/brown ash..suprisingly it was a pretty firm ash....The cigar gave off a nice aroma while burning... Overall it was a satisfying cigar.. Im sure most would not like it because it is a very mild underpowering smoke..
Well after dinner I decided to go bet on some horses and light up the Rocky Patel Vintage 1990. Wow what a great looking cigar..nice dark wrapper..a bit oily..flawless in construction.. Preligh aroma was strong....It lit up very nicely..and burned so evenly..the ash was very very tight and white as could be.. This thing gave off a nice blue smoke...(might of been the lighting..LOL) This thing packed a nice earthy leathery flavor..it felt 100% stronger than the Iguan I had smoked befor dinner.. This cigar sat very well with me until 1.4 of the way down where it went out on me.. When I relit it It tasted obnoxious and carbony.. I decided I would not continue to smoke the rest of it.. Overall a very nice smoke.. If It would of not gone out on me I know it would of been a finger burner..
And I topped of the night with one of faithfuls..good old Sancho Panza Double Maduro.. what can I say about that smoke..
