Idea's on keeping my coolerdor warmer

I have my coolerdor in my basement. The basement temp right now is ok but the Northeast gets cold and so will my basement. Right now temp inside is 65 deg F.

I was thinking of building an insulating box to put around the 120qt monster but was wondering if there is a simpler way..

And No I cannot bring it upstairs in my house...no room at the inn so to speak.

Let me know your thoughts gents.

Thanks
Frank

Throw an insulating blanket over it.

I wouldn't worry about it. My basement is colder and I haven't had any problems.

Do you guys think that being too cold, assuming the cold isn't extreme, affects the cigars? Like I said before, my basement is below 60 all winter and I haven't had any problems, but it's only been down there for about a year.

I've never had any problems and my cigars have been in the basement for a couple of years now. As long as they stay above 50*F or so I don't worry about it, but they've never gotten that cold. I'm not sure how cold it gets where you live, but we have 3-4 weeks of 24 hour subzero weather here and 3-4 months of 24 hour sub 20s.

If your basement gets colder than that I don't think it's a basement, I think it's a cellar. :)

The cooler is an insulator so the temp in there is stable. You'll be surprised at how consistent the temperature is held in there. I wouldn't worry about it.

OK...I'm worrying to much...thanks for the feedback gents...I'll just give it a little smooch once in a while to warm it up.. :whistling:

I agree. I would not worry about the temp being affected too much.

I mash every homebrew in a cooler and it hold the temp at a steady temp for over an hour, actually rising sometimes. I have also had ice in a cooler for over a week with minimal temp loss - the ice was still there. If you don't open it often for extended periods it should be fine.
