I submitted a segmented turning I had done a couple years ago in a contest in Fine Wood Working magazine's website. I was excited when I made the top 15 but because of all the votes I got from my fellow BOTL I won the contest. The prize is (winning the contest) and a DVD set with all the past FWW issues plus a couple DVD's from Richard Raffan, a world renound turner. For me the best prize is just winning the contest. I really do appreciate the votes from everyone. Thank you very much. Here is the link if you would like to look at it. This calls for a celibatory cigar. http://www.finewoodworking.com/item/18738/monsoon-by-bill-wyko-wins-turning-challenge

Congratulations! I threw the link to the vote up on various streams and had a number of people compliment your fine work. Definitely a fine piece!

Phenomenal work by both you and the other participants (though, I have to say, the artist in me is somewhat partial to the Escher). At any rate,

Way to go Bill! Very happy you found a way to combine art and hobby into one!

Tell ya what, I love playing with my wood, but it ain't pretty :sign:

Oh I don't know about that. The last wood you showed here looked damn pretty to me! ;)
