Over the last few years I have really become a picky bastage when it comes to food. I don't mean just any restaraunt in general...I will still have lunch at Crapplebee's once in while, or order the occasional burger from McDonalds, etc. But when I go to a place like that, I know that I shouldn't expect too much. As of late though, its getting harder and harder to find really good restaurants. If I'm in the mood for a really good steak...I make it at home. etc etc. anyways, the point of this story is that we recently discovered PF Changs!! I'm sure many of you have heard of them, they are a nationwide chain..and all you south park fans may remember when Towelee was working there in the "Million Little Fibers" episode.

The Wife and I have been going up there quite a bit lately and we really enjoy the place! I'm sure its not really "authentic" as far as asian foods go, but they have a great atmosphere, and the food is always been damn good. I guess the biggest appeal to me is that I've always been a big fan of chinese restaurants in general, but its not very often that you find a nice one like this. Even better, they will take reservations!

So go out and check this place out, try the lettuce wraps and the Beef a la sichuan and report back here pronto!!!

Pfffffft Chang

Pfffffft Chang

They serve BBQ at PF Changs?!

PS - Try the lettuce rolls.

I agree PF Changs is very good and very affordable. It's not really authentic, but a trendy/new age gourmet take on Chinese. I think the best part really is the fact that you know the ingredients going into the food is top notch and that's what makes the simple preparation tasty.

Anywho, two thumbs up from me...and I'm a picky bastid as well.

PF Chang's sea bass with a tall Sapporo. Exquisite. Leave your jacket in the car though, or you'll smell like Chang's until the next load of wash.

Gotta agree. Affordable restaurant I can take the lady friend too. I am a big eater, and there is always leftovers.

Great ingredients. Good call Martin 2D.

Boo. I was dragged there a month ago and wasn't the biggest fan. When it comes to American Chinese cuisine, I'd rather have American Japanese cuisine. I'm a huge sushi fan and me and better half go to a nice Sushi place in downtown Chattanooga about once a week. Usually runs $60, so it's a little higher than PF Changs, but well worth it, to me atleast.

Try the Kung Pao chicken next time, it's the best I've ever had. Like hot little fried chicken bits. Amazing...

Hey if you don't agree with me then Fugg you man!!!

Rod....SOLD! Did I mention that I have reservations for 8pm tonight??

They opened one in West Des Moines about 2 years ago while I was in law school. It was great food! There's no way it's authentic, but it is reasonably priced, you get a ton of food, the ingredients are top-notch, and they have Pilsner Urquell on tap! The Kung Pao is great, and so is the Mongolian Beef (nice and crispy on the edges)! There's a noodle dish I can't think of that's good, I think it's either called twice-cooked (or something to that effect) or it says that in the description.

I haven't been to PF Chang's in ages. The one here in Miami (actually Aventura area) is not the greatest actually. I know because, by comparison, the one I would go to in Birmingham (up at the Summit) was damn good, and the best thing about it were the lettuce rolls IMHO. But, they also have those at Cheescake Factory here as well, so whenever I do feel like those, it's Cheesecake Factory.

But, congrats on your discovery...that's always a damn good thing to find.

Try the Mongolian beef for the entrée, awsome and for appetizers pan fried dumplings....Mmmmmm Goood!!!

I went for the first time with strayvector and cincicigarman. I was actually suprised that the food was so good. There is nothing worse than ordering something "spicey" and getting something that has just been loaded with RedHot. I'll definately go back but this time I will tell the waiter I've been there so I don't get the douche bag TGIF style speech about the sauces.

Oh, and I hear the lettuce wraps are good.

My wife and I first ate at PF Changs when we lived in Vegas, the one on Rampart/Charleston I believe. One thing that's fun to try (at least once if you're into it) is to reserve the table in the kitchen. Not all locations have this, but a couple I've been to had a table for at least 6 or 8 people that was right in the middle of the kitchen, so you could avoid talking to your dinner companions and just watch what they're doing.

And Josh, the location in Denver was nice too, but I'd rather go across the street to Ruth's Chris!

Good call on the kitchen table!~

Ah, yes, I forgot to add this. Every time I say "you can skip the speech, I've been here before" the waiter/waitress says "thank you!" and seems to appreciate it very much.
