When I joined CP, I was keeping my sticks in a little tupperware bowl ($5.00) with a credo ($5.00) and an analog hygrometer ($9.00) I picked up at a little B&M. Total investment: $19.00. Well, after being an inmate here for just about a year to the day, I have ordered an Aristocrat from Bob Staebell. To be specific, and Aristocrat Plus THC. Here are the specs so far:

Aristocrat Plus-THC in Dark Red Mahogany
Burl or Plum pudding Inlay Top
Burl or Plum Pudding Raised Panel Door (will decide on which type of wood later)
2 Full Extension Shelves
1 Full Extension Drawer
DX curved molding base
Crown Molding Top
2 extra fans (total of 6)

I read a lot of the past threads here and at CW and got a lot of insight for my decision. I decided to go with the plus based on seeing so many here lament for more space. I can't imagine having 50 boxes of cigars along with several hundred singles, but those seem to be famous last words around here.

So thanks, guys, for the addiction! Sweet temperature/humidity controlled goodness will be mine in 6-8 weeks!

Nice unit! Now you can start saving for that walk-in :p

Wow! I've got wood just reading about it. let's see some pics.

I've seen this before, what is the THC add on?

The chemical that makes you stoned?

If only I had pictures, that would mean I had my new humi, and that would be sweet. If only...6 to 8 weeks will tell the tale.

I think THC stands for temperature/humidity control. Down here in Florida, it routinely gets over 85 during the day, hence the THC version of the cabinet!

Congratulations on the new cabinet. Enjoy filling it.............and then picking from it.

THC add on. you have a seperate drawer to keep the funny colored tobacco in.

Pictures for sure.

As a proud owner of a Aristocrat Hummi I gotta tell you your going to love it!

Set it once and walk away it so sweet. You'll be the envy of your block.

Plus you get to fill the thing up ......... oh how much fun can a person have :D

Yes, this is what a need to hear. The impeccable perfection of the aristocrat. That way, if my wife ever finds out how much I spent, I can show her this thread. "See Honey, they're really great! All the guys have one!"

So chime in all you aristocrat owners. Especially if you went THC. Don't leave me hanging out here in the...oh ****, someone's coming. Screensaver mode!

Well, this is turning out to be an interesting project. I have asked Bob to make some modifications for me. Namely, to add an exterior drawer to the cabinet, except I want it on the bottom, not the top. I am putting mine on the bottom because it is an accessory drawer, and the cigars are the really important thing. This has 2 benefits, storage space for cigar "stuff", plus I am adding about a foot of height to the humidor, so less bending over looking for boxes, and a more imposing looking cabinet. It should be about 53" tall when all is said is done. He wants the drawer to have a figured inlay just like the door. I am also having him finish the fronts of the two interior cedar drawers in wood that matches the outside of the cabinet, just so the inside matches the outside when it is open. I'm feeling all decadent.

It should be a sweet cabinet. I just need patience.

I just spent a few minutes on AristocratHumidors.com, and I have to say that I'm extremely impressed. Those are beautiful pieces, and reasonably priced given the craftsmanship.

Unfortunately, I'm more in the coolidor price range, but I compliment your taste.

It's all the fault of this place. And the Florida heat. When you're trying to do a cooled cabinet, the options narrow down quite a bit, and Bob has done so much good work for the guys here and on CW.
