...to try to beat my ash record!

I'm not sure if this is a personal best, but it's damn close.

A while ago I had a "reverse" wrapped CAO America perfecto from the "4 for the 4th" sampler they had out last summer:

Almost halfway through:

Not bad:

Getting close:

The last good shot before the ash annihilated my shirt/pants/chair/floor:

The final remnant:

Can anyone do better?

Nice job there !!

I always happen to be driving when I get my ash records, so they're gone before I can snap a picture. :(

Oh my god.

Presuming there was none of the old paper clip trick there you just got all the man points you will ever need.

Cool, but I prefer to enjoy my cigar. Smoking butts for 25 years prevents me from allowing more than half an inch of ash.

Enjoying one's cigar and producing a lengthy ash are not mutually exclusive. I enjoyed the hell out of the pictured perfecto. Plus, I never sit down with a cigar with the intention of sitting there like an asshole and smoking this whole thing vertically without moving. I'll smoke one normally, but if I find the ash staying stubbornly on there after several inches or more, I'll see how far I can take it.

Good lord, the most I've gotten was about 3 inches on an AF Sungrown. That is unholy.

I seem to do pretty well with Ashton Aged Maduros, but have never actually tried to go that far into it. Just not my cup of tea I guess.

I very nearly pulled the trigger on that same sampler earlier today, I'm on a bit of a barber pole kick I think, and am in fact still considering it. How did you like the stick and would you recommend it to anyone? Impressive ash stand by the way.

I thoroughly enjoyed the perfecto, and I enjoy the America line in general. However, a big factor in my decision to buy the sampler was that the retailer (Drapers, in Washington DC) was giving out a "free" MX3 with the purchase of the sampler. If you can find a good deal on one, I'd go for it. I wish I could remember how much I paid for it...probably $29.99.

Nice ash!!! We always have a 'longest ash' contest @ our herfs and I have never seen one keep its form like that. Tha's a classic!
