Question for you Hydra owners.

Do yo have any problems or issues with the unit getting back to the desired level after charging the unit.

I am on my third time adding water and the same thing has happened all three times. After I shut the unit off, fill the cartridge, and turn the unit back on, it takes for ever to the hygrometer to get back up to 65-70% and the last two times the "add warter" sounds went off and it need to be reset.

Evnetaully it did level off.

Anyone experience anything similar?

Other than that it works great.

Thanks.

Al

Well not five mintes after I posted this, the audible alarm went off again.......

I know it is full, I just filled it yesterday.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...............................

I haven't refilled mine yet. But I found from the first time that I installed it that it is important how you connect the power.

I forget if I did power to the ribbon, then ribbon to the unit or vice versa, but it made a difference.

You might try reversing your power connection order.

Thanks for the help.

I do not have an issue with how often I have to fill it. I am probably filling it every five weeks.

I have the unit running in a Staebell Mini. With a Radio Shack fan that I have hooked up to the Hydra.

I am pretty sure the power is correct becasue it was running perfectly until I had to add water and I did not disconnect the power ribbons when I charged it.

The issue is that after I refill it, the hygrometer is not registering correctly and the 'add water' audible sound goes off within hours of it being filled.

The two times it has level out after running for 24-48 hours, but doesnt seem to be this time.

Maybe I should not power the unit off when changing the cartridge. But it should not respond like this when powered back on.

Just looking for anyone else's expereience.

Thanks

Al

Did you try unplugging the unit and plugging it back in?
I have not head of this issue before, but maybe by removing power totally it will reset the unit.

Dave

This might be a dumb question, but when the hydra is on, do you feel air blowing out of it? If your power is reversed, the fan will spin the opposite direction and suck air in, instead of blowing it out.

Thanks for all the help.

Dave, I did unplug the unti and let it sit.

Rod, while it was blowing air out, can you reverse the power on these? I did double check my conections after reading your post.

The unit has settled but not after the alarm going off three times.

I will watch for this next time and bump this post if it occurs again.

Thanks again all.

Al

I know this is an old thread, but I'm bumping it because my Hydra's alarm is going off constantly much like Al's did. Has anyone else ever had this problem? I've had it since late last night and the alarm seems to be going off every few hours like clock work. I just don't understand what the problem is.
