I am away from home so I have the girlfriend taking care of the cigars

I called her today and asked her to check on the Humidor (Mini Aristocrat) to see if the Hydra needed water to be added. When she checked she told me that it was off. Arrgh!
We had a power outage last night so I amthining that it may have something to do with it?
I asked her to unplug everything and replug it in and still there is no power coming to the Hydra
Anyone ever had this happen to them
Anything I can try to get it back on
I have way too much money invested to lose it to something stupid
Thanks

Hi

Yes it happens everytime I lose power which is probally a good thing seems like it has a built in power surge protection device. I would hate for a power surge to fry my Hydra. It is normal turn it back on and your good.

Best Regards
Don

Your the man
Had to hold the power button down for 20 seconds at least
Good to know that other people have had this problem and were able to remedy it
Thanks

Heck yes
It was all the way up to 79 when it came on and I let it run for a bit.
Viper replied to me through his heartfelt email and said he would replace it no questions asked and all I asked was for a little help
Anyone who has any doubts about Viper and his products ERASE THEM and order from him
Him and his products are the best and he stands behind them

Crap, thats what happened to mine. I guess it really can't handle a surge of anykind. It won't adjust and when you try to change the humidity cutoff setting, it just scrolls all the way up to oblivion.

Wow that is strange. I have lost power a few times and all I ever have to do is just power it back on and move the humidty back down to 65% maybe be time to get a surge protector and stop tempting fate.

Best Regards
Don

I was thinking the same thing as I read this whole thread.

Time for you all to head out to Home Depot/Lowes and get the SP...today!

Too much hanging in the balance to mess around any longer guys

good news, when I depressed the power button (unit was previously off) for 20 sec, it seems it reset. I now works correctly. Strange. Wonder if it's just an internal protection feature.

Great news I got nervous after my 1st power failure.

Most of the cigar collections around here would even warrant going to Staples and purchasing a $50.00 UPS battery backup for your active humidification. :whistling:

Yep, they always have to be turned back on after a power failure.
