Hey guys im new here! been lurking the forms for the past few days. but anyways as of now i got a nice 25ct humidor(my first buy)Im useing the liquid crystals for my humidity and two analog hydros...bolth calibrated every few months...but anyways...

Im going to buy a 100-125ish humidor becasue i need the room.
I allready orderd a large tube of beeds from viper which should be plenty or perfect for this humidor http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=6171352253

Thats the humidor i want to get (Nice,Glass top, sweet finish, drawer for cutters, lighters blah blah) all that i would want...but what do you think..theres no brand name and im hopeing its a quality humidor??? any advice on this box and its quality please. yes, budget is an issue.

i want to get a digi hydrometer but i think the radioshack ones are too bulky and stupid looking :( anyone recomend me one i can put inside the box and look through the glass to check on it...

Thanks for spending the time to read everyone.

Hi Chad and welcome from NYC.....

I almost bought that Humi for myself, good thing I didn't, because after hanging out here for a while and dealing with the Devil- CigarBid I decide to go with a 54 Qt Igloo cooler. I am sure you have purchase from E-bay before, so just make sure the seller has good feedback. I don't think you can tell how good it really is till you get it home. I sold my last Humidor on E-bay and the buyer tore it apart to see what type of wood it was. He told me it was only cedar veneer on top of press board. And I thought I was buying a reputable humidor (Thompson's)

As for the RadioShack hygrometer. You are right, for that size humi it is a little bulky. Mainly everyone uses the RadioShack wireless hygrometer so they don't have to keep opening the door to check the RH. You won't have that problem with a Glasstop model. Do a search on e-bay for a digital hygrometer, you'll come up with a **** load of them, then "salt test" it when you get it to make sure it is accurate

Damn, I'm rambling on and on......

Just my 10¢ opinion

CI posted a link in the sale forum about a imperfect glass top El Rey. Follow the link, they guy will let you make an offer on it. Just send an email asking what is wrong with it. The El Rey is a fine looking and working humidor.

Looks like a nice humi but follow the sage advice of the previous posters. Also, I have heard/read some bad things about glass/plastic (check to be sure what yours will be made of) top humidors. Something about the seal as well as the possibility of sunlight affecting the cigars.

With everything I purchase that is above say $50 I do some research and make sure I am getting not only a good price but that what I am getting is functional and of good quality. It is good to ask here and at other boards because regardless of what the manufacturer might tell you the real test of value and quality is the comsumer.

I finally went here to get my humidore:

CheapHumidors.com

and I purchased this model and I am very pleased:

The Cordoba

Ok that was my $.25 worth of humidor advice. Good luck with what ever purchase you make.

I have a 600-count (yeah, yeah, I know) humi that has a glass top and front. Initially it held humidity very well. I have two digital hygro's in it, and the one on the top tray is consistently lower than the one in the bottom box area.

Oh,and on mine the 'glass' is actually plastic. ANYHOO, I'm thinking that anything other than solid wood may be problematic at some point.

Or how about this one instead?El Monstro :whistling:

I just ordered a solid wood 1200ct humi, HERE I was blown away by the price.
I steped up and bought the Cigar Oasis Plus for an extra $100 bucks.
