Humidor in Wine Cooler?

I am a newbie, and I really appreciate the feedback that I have received just from researching the forums already.

Thanks in advance......

I am in So Cal, have a new desktop humidor, the RH is good but the room temp is in the 80's. I have a Haier Wine cooler already plugged in, and am wondering - can I just put the humidor in the cooler during the hotter months? I am not sure the Wife is into a full conversion to Wine-o-dor, perhaps in the long run. But for now, and problems with just placing the whole humidor in the cooler?

what if the temp stays at around 59 degrees....is this too cold?

Thank you, I look forward to any answers that you can provide.

I would say it would be ok for now. I would make sure you monitor the humidity. I would also think that 59 degrees is better than 80+ degrees. I just moved everything into my newly converted wine-o-dor HERE.

I can think of no good reason why you cannot place your desktop inside the wine cooler as you are want to do. The hard wood used in humidor construction, and the cigars you hold inside your humidor, should certainly be able to withstand the 59 degree interior temperature of your wine cooler.

For what it's worth, I also live in So Cal. I have a few desktop humidors that are lying about and are filled with cigars. I don't worry too much about the heat affecting them. I just keep them each in as cool and shaded location as possible. I've yet to have a problem with beetles. The bulk of my inventory is kept in a Haier wine cooler as well. That's full. No chance for me to place any desktop humidors inside there.
