Well, as many of you know I have a wine-o-dor that works fantastically. The problem is, its full. So, I either stop buying for a while or I look to expand. The unfortunate thing about expanding is I need a cooled system due to temps going well into the mid to upper 70's during the day when the AC is on standby. The other unfortunate thing is that I simply can't afford a thousands of dollars for a cabinet currently. I will one day go this route, but for now, my collection isn't worthy of such an investment.

So I've been shopping around for cabinet humidors that are more affordable and researching installing my own cooling system. I've looked at my wine cooler and believe that I could purchase a couple and probably fabricate a pair into a prebuilt cabinet of some sort. I'm also looking into other peltier style cooling devices.

Has anyone done this? My budget is less than $1000. I'm looking for something about 6' tall and 24" wide.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the web page, I am going to get in touch with them. Their products look great, it is time to build a nice humi with the grandad!

Currently I am on my third Vinotemp 28 bottle capacity. At 179.00 ea. I figure I can buy 8 of them and still be less expensive than an equal sized non cooled cabinet. They will stack 3 high and take very little room. Best bang for the buck, and I have my smokes seperated. Singles in one, full boxes in the other, and strictly long term aging in the third. After I outgrow those, I'll just start a new stack! Holy crap, this hobby is gonna land me in the poorhouse.
