I just wanted to know if the rectangle plastic humidification device that you place in a humidor with slits along its length is filled with humidification beads or silica gel??

Thanks.

It can be either. You can wet a paper towel and put it in the box. I personally prefer 65% RH beads, as in Viper beads.

Most of them are filled with floral foam. I opened mine up and replaced the foam with RH beads.

I will have to check to see what is inside. It seems the beads are the best choice. I guess I just place them within this casing as the tutorial mentions.

With mine i took out the floral foam and replaced it with beads. I took a pair of Panty hose put some beads in them and put them in the casing. You will need something to hold the beads in as they are smaller than the slits on most humidification devices and will fall out otherwise.
