I've only smoked one cigar since Christmas due to bad weather and a sinus infection so I decided today would be a day to smoke a decent cigar (62 and sunny). Sorry, no pics since I didn't think I'd try a review.
I picked out a HdM Regalos EL '07 since it's been so long. This cigar is fresh from the box so I didn't know what to expect.
Binder
Filler
Wrapper
Length 5 1/4
Ring 46
Went outside and performed the "circumcision" of the cap. Took a prelight draw and it was very loose. Toasted and then lit her up. Initial reaction was it seemed much like a HdM Petite Robo at lighting. Very smooth, woodsy, a little leather, and voluminous amounts of smoke. It was almost a little too loose for my liking, but I enjoy a good bit of smoke so it was still tolerable. The first half of the cigar never changed....very mellow, I would say this is a medium smoke. I started getting a little peppery taste after the halfway mark. The ash held on all the way up to the Edicion Limitada band and was light gray for the most part. The only problem with the cigar the whole time was at this point, the wrapper started to come loose and unravel. Took off the bands and the peppery taste because more prevalent toward the end of the cigar. I finally tossed it with a little less than a inch left. Overall this was a very good cigar that was surprisingly good for being so young. A little age can do nothing but make it better. Might revisit this in a year a see how much it's changed.
