I have my first humidor seasoning right now and I have a box of Montecristo's in metal tubes waiting to go in, and I was wondering if I store them in or out of the tube? Thank you for any advice!
I only put mine in when I golf/travel with them or when I give them away...
I always had bad luck with them in the tube, mold and humidity problems (taste is off)
But again, maybe its in my head LOL (for the taste of course!)...
I will take mine out of the tube if I know I will be smoking them in the near future. If I have 10 or more in tubes I tend to leave them in until I'm anticipating lighting them up in the near future. To me there's something about letting a cigar "breath" in a well seasoned humidor in the open.
I take the cap off so they can breathe but leave them in the tubes if I have other sticks in the humi with them. I like to taste the stick I'm smoking and not the one that's been laying on it for a while.
