How times have changed.
I just picked this ashtray up off Aussie Ebay. It is from the 1940's when it was fashionable to smoke, :laugh: .
I can just see this on a managers desk with his pipe in it.
It is advertising a machine tool manufacturer. Nowadays you are lucky to got a calender or a hat.
Anyway I reckon it looks cool, it is made from Bakelite and it fits my Peterson real nice.

That is simply beautiful mate, good pick up. Can you imagine living in a time when not only smoking was allowed in the workplace, but an occasional drink wasn't frowned upon either? If I could trade today's frenetic pace of life for those bygone days I would do it in a heartbeat. Great post Anvil.

Well said! Slowly and methodically, those that control us implement more laws every day. Some of the science fiction movies we saw years ago are now reality.

That's a beautiful ashtray Dave, excellent find. Oh and nice come back last week from the All Blacks; about time they got their act together.
