It's amazing... for years I've enjoyed Padron 3000's and AF Chateau's... I venture out thinking there's more to life than these two cigars, stumble across CP and you fockers ruin me!

I was out for a walk today in bear infested woods - so bad that our local fur fin and feathers dept has signs all over about bear attacks! Me, my 2 100+# pups and 300 grains of .44 soft lead weren't too worried tho. I took along a newer standby, a Sancho Panza Dbl Maduro and fired that sucker up. And you know what?? In the first few minutes I thought... geez, this just doesn't cut it anymore! :0 Good thing I brought along a HdM backup...

After all the Anejos, Opus, WOAM (Mmmmmmmm), PAM, Serie 26, DCM, RASS, Siglo, SLR Series A, MAG46, Famosos... my tastes have really changed! I mean, the SP Dbl Maduro was still quite good, but with my smoking habit only about 1-4 cigars a week, I don't have enough time to spend on 'lesser' cigars!

Now... what to do with them to make room for the 'snob-gars'?

Anyways- thanks... thanks alot!

(this post, although serious, is meant to be tongue-in-cheek... no offense to anyone for the focker comment... that is all... no popcorn being served here... move along...)

See my Sig. That's what I smoke. Those and Habanos. Snobbish? Perhaps. But those are what I like. Oh, and 1926s (#6 & #9 Maduros). :D

....I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. Was making some room in the cooler a couple of days ago and wondered out loud "....who bought all this crap..??...".... :whistling:...

Cheers - B.B.S.

One man's rockets are another man's OpusX. ;) I'm finally to the point where I only have one tray in my desktop with cigars I need to "try". All the rest are for smokin' and enjoyin'.

Lol

Just send them to Moki. He will promise to smoke all of them and give reviews. (The board never forgets)

Hope ya made enough room... :whistling:

And no... I don't think it sucks Moki! Only thing that sucks about it is I have 2 levels of my coolidor that are 'for trying out' and I don't think I'll be getting to many of them! But what sucks for me is another members gain...!

Well swissy, I'm glad to know that I'm not quite there yet. I know that some day it will come, at the rate that I'm trying new sticks, but for now I still enjoy many that you would probably call crap. My wallet likes where my palette is right now as well - but again, I'm sure that will change over time.

Hey OrangeBro,
Don't get me wrong... I'm not calling them crap by any means! they are very good cigars- CAO Brazilia, Sancho Panza Dbl Maduro, Perdomo La Tradicion, and so on. And not the cheapest out there either. But it's more that my tastes have told me what they like, and what they want and it's time to just start smoking those. I don't smoke enough cigars to spend days upon weeks upon months looking for a new fav anymore. I've been a member here just over 6 months and I guess it's time?

As far as my wallet goes, man I wish it was different! But since I only smoke a few a week, I can justify a more spendy cigar occasionally as opposed to a less expensive cigar more often. It all washes out about the same in the long run? (at least thats what I tell the wife! )

Snobbish- maybe... but tastes are tastes! it's like my taste in food... I'd rather eat a zesty Thai or Indian Curry dish than got to McDonalds!

The same thing happened to me and now I have a whole cooler full of "crap"! :0

One man's crap is another man's good cigar...

OK, so "crap" is probably not the right word. How about this - I guess I just expect more out of a cigar now. I want some complexity of flavor, something "special". Will I smoke them? Over time, probably so. But - there's no doubt that what I like and what is appealing to me has changed a lot in the last 12 months or so.

Hey Swissy, for the record, I do still like Padron 3K's in maduro, and just bought a box of Chateau Fuente's......

Oh, and I'd never put a BOTL down over his personal choices. Tastes are of course very different and as has been pointed out, what one guy likes another may....not.

Regards - B.B.S.

Edit - Will B.B.S. ever learn to spell...?? Probably not.....

I will gladly take any "crap" off your hands or out of your coolers for that fact. Mooch Mooch Mooch :D

At first I was going to offer to help make room in the coolidors, but then I happened to check the mail, and now thanks to JR's "this purchase now qualifies you for such and such deal!!" and a very nice newbie sampler, both my 40 and 150 count humidors are now almost full (the 150 got filled up about 2 days after I got it). On the bright side I cant spend anymore money on cigars because I have no room for a coolidor :angry2:

Luckily I have a few outdoor hobbies and cut my own grass.

I have rearranged the humidor several times in the last couple weeks in preparation for two trips, one fishing and one golf. Hunting season is right around the corner. There are four sizeable trays filled with cigars that are not expensive, smokeable and therefore good to give away. Golfers are generally cigar mooches, fishermen not so bad and hunters usually bring their own. So, since so many outdoor activities call for less than primo smokes I get the chance to get rid of the OK, used to be, non-primo stuff.

And yes there is room for more. :D

LOL!!! I'm in the same boat Swissy. But the same thing that has happened to my humidor has happened to my wine cellar, and my kitchen pantry! Yup, balsamic vinegar, salt, olive oils and even rice are even turning snobbish.

We threw a Cellar Depletion party a couple of weeks ago and nobody was allowed to bring "any" wine, if they did it went back home with them. During the festivities I pulled out the "extra" humidor and held a Humidor Depletion HERF. It made room for all those Opus and Padron that are in transit ???
