Checked my humi today...for fun.

Its sitting at 75/63. I like the 63 part, don't like the 75 part. Is my oonly option to move it on down to the basement for the time being? I just don't want to inhibit any beetle activity

Well, before I worked at a cigar shop part-time, I stored it in the coolest room of the house inside the closet on the floor. Now, they are stored at a perfect 70/70. :p Neener, neener, neener. :p

Put it in the closet that houses the central ac. Or the basement if you aren't going to run the AAC. LOL

I need to bring mine down in the basement....although they never got above 75 the were at 74. A little close for my liking.

The downstairs (where the end-tables rest) stays around 72-73. Not bad. The upstairs (where the cabinet resides) gets way too hot. I just installed a window unit in the den for the spring/summer and closed the door. Cost me $80 plus some of my own labor, but it is keeping the room right at 70.

...so, what would you guys consider "too hot"....??

Thanks - B.B.S.

Bought a fridge (2 cubic feet) last night at Home Depot for $70. Ran it all night on the warmest setting and checked temp this morning. 68 degrees. I'm good for the summer. :)

nice!

the question now becomes; how does it hold humidity?

good luck and keep us posted.

The dorm fridges dont really do much to draw out humidity. I have a fridge that died, so I yanked the compressor and the tubes out of the fridge, covered up the holes. Works like a champ! I did have a large fan in there but it was over kill. I am going to add 3 tiny fans and hook it up to a timer. 10 minutes a day should do the trick.

Frigadoor update:

Temp dropped a bit to 66 degrees but holding steady for the last 24 hours. RH is 72 and holding firm. I'm happy. :)

I wonder if I can place my humi in my wine refrigerator? ??? I heard that putting your smokes in the refrigerator sucks out all the moisture from them.
