How do I get the humidity down?

My humidor is a deep desk top is reading about 83%.
My other one is a desk top two levels its small 82%. Third is very old 74%.
I have about 30-40 cigars at any time in the deep one and 20 in the small one.
My problem is the cigars on the top shelf are getting most of the moisture.
The bottom ones are staying ok but alittle moist.
Now my larger cigars ex. LA Gloria Cubana R. are obsorbing too much moisture.

SO what do I do?
Do I lower the humidity? If so how?
Do I store less cigars?
Do I get a better humidor?
Right now I have 3 humidors and they are all filled. Two of them I am having an undesirable moisture problem on the top shelf and larger cigars.

Thanks for your input

I hate to sound like a broken record Beads are your answer!!!

Visit Vippers website and pick yourself up some, He just posted that he has lowered his prices also. Nowis the time to get them!!!

...has anyone mentioned beads yet...??..... :p

Seriously, one of the advantages to beads (as I understand it) is that they can absorb as well as release humidity; actually controls the humidity rather than just supplementing it. The beads will eventually "saturate" but a little hair dryer lovin' will dry them out and get you back in business. Here in the PacNW, I usually have to add humidity; just dosed the beads with a little DI this AM. My 1/2 lb. of beads in my desktop usually needs DI every six weeks or so.

In any event, Viper will hook you up with the good stuff. www.heartfelt.com

Also, making sure your hygrometer is calibrated is worth mentioning.....

Good luck - B.B.S.

You could just stop rubbing the wood, it'll go down then. :p

Ok first things first.

Are your Hygrometers calibrated?

Oh and Beads... :) or rice.

Some other things to try.

Pull Humidifiers out and let them sit out for 24-48hrs.

Buy smaller humidifiers.
