How about some recommendations

I have only been smoking cigars for a few months. I have tried several cigars at the local Cigar Shop. I tend to migrate more to the medium Habano wraper although sometime I find a good med-full cigar I like. Right now with my limited experience my favorites are the Oliva Serie O, Cain and Perdomo Habano. I tried a Gurka Black Puro last weekend that was good. My budget limits me from the high dollar smokes (above $8-$10). So that being said how about some recommendations to broaden my smoking experience.

Your question for recommendations is a very common request. Read through the Cigar Lounge Forum...within the first 3 pages are a few recent threads from other newbies with the same type of question.

The best cigar recommendation I can give is to learn to use the resources that are already here. If you invest a little time reading on CigarPass, you will learn a wealth of information in a very short time.

Rocky Patel 1990 or 1992 cigars are pretty damned good and fit your budget. You can get 'em in 5 packs or 6 packs if you just want to try them. IMO they are about as good a stick quality wise as you can buy for $4 +/- ea.

I second what MilesMingusMonk said. One of the best resources (outside of searching) would be to save up a few of those 10 dollar stick allotments and check out the newb sampler. It is the best way to get your feet wet and try a range of smokes. Do not be worried about pegging your perfect stick yet because until you try a variety there is no way to truely know what you like.

Absolutely try the newbie sampler. It can be found HERE
