hello, I'm new to the cigar world and I've made some random purchases from an online shop.
After reading so much online about fake cohibas my paranoia reached its max.
Please tell me what you think of this one ?

Hello Cykada, and welcome to the board. First, go here and post an intro thread: http://www.cigarpass.com/forum/index.php?forums/introduce-yourself-here.13/

Second, go here and check out the rules of the forum: http://www.cigarpass.com/forum/index.php?threads/rules-of-the-community.74825/

You may find this helpful as well: http://www.cigarpass.com/new-member-guide/

It's generally considered poor form to make a first post asking for verification of cigars. There are many resources online that can help with your question, and we really don't have enough information from your post to give a truly informed opinion. Stick around and get to know us, you'll like it here.

My apologies for my lack of proper introduction, however time is of the essence in my current situation. I didn't mean to offend anyone.

No worries. You didn't offend anyone, just letting you know how this community works.

Why is time of the essence? Purchasing a cigar from an online shop, isn't exactly the most speedy of time frames. What are you not telling us?

Perhaps then the more appropriate response would be... One shouldn't delve into what one doesn't know. There are some famous words that are posted quite often here. Trust your source. If you can't, then perhaps you should not be buying cigars from places unknown.

I live in Poland and the only source in my area are online stores. It was the first time I purchased from this store so I just need your opinion. They generally have professional service and the other cigars I've ordered look fine, however this cohiba raises my suspicion.

If you're only here for our opinion, you aren't going to get it.

Isn't this why forums exist ? To talk about something people are passionate about? Yes I just signed up, yes I just started in the world of cigars. But I see where this is going...

Yes, that's what forums are for and this one is no different. This place has existed for quite a long time and the people here have invested a lot to have things just so. As mentioned by Eshaw99, hit those links and read the rules. If you don't have time for these good people to help you then the link I posted should help.

This is a community, we have built relationships/friendships over years of interaction. We don't like it when people join up, want an answer to their only reason for signing up, then leave once they have their answer. If your intent is to hang around, then post an intro. If you only want an answer to a question, then leave, you won't get much help.

You sure are jumping in the deep end in buying cuban cigars, if you just started in the world of cigars.

Maybe a trip to Warsaw should be in your future. That is, if you intend on finding a retailer who knows about Cuban cigars. If that's not an option. Perhaps your diving into a world that's too much for you. While diving in head first is usually a good way to learn about something, one doesn't go around acquiring rare or hard to find items without first learning about how to do so. If all you are after is a Cuban cigar, then you seem to have that, if what you seek is a comraderie and brotherhood, you have much to learn. Stick to buying things you're familiar with, or have no issues with verifying authenticity.

I posted this in another thread. Just this morning, actually. And that OP understood, posted an intro, and seems interested in becoming a member of the community. Here, not so much.

Welcome to CP. When you get a chance, head to the Intro forum and introduce yourself. Ever have a guy kick in your door and start asking a whole bunch of questions? This is our home.

Well, I'll offer some help. You are welcome to send the cigar to me, I'll give you my honest review of how it smokes and if it might be real. I'm willing to sacrifice to help others out

I'm going to go with the "trust your gut and trust your source" mantra.

That said, smoke it. If it is delicious, buy more. If it is a dog turd, chalk it up to a learning experience.

Good luck. And I hope you decide to stick it out. I know the welcoming committee can be a bit, well, unwelcoming. :p

We are actually a friendly bunch, but it all starts with a quick intro post and a small bit of participation.

Here is the truth. Stick around, contribute and get to know people. When you get to know everyone and they are comfortable with you, then you could even PM someone with great experience CC (which there are plenty) and ask. But, that will take time and building trust. This forum is not the one to go to if you only plan to sign in and then ask a quick is this fake question, sell/buy your cigars, get other people's CC lines, and such. Go to other forums for it.

Edit spelling
