Helix Super 8 Maduro was sent to me as an extra by Monte in the lottery I won.
Country of Origin: Honduras
Flavor: Mild to Medium
Wrapper: Connecticut Shade, Broadleaf
Binder: Mexican, Honduran Talanga Cubano
Filler: Dominican, Brazilian, Honduran, Mexican
Length: 8 Ring :54
stick with me here as I'm new and don't know "chocolatey-tastes" or # ratings.
When I got the stick I was a lil' overtaken by it's size, Monte called it a "war-club".
After dinner tonight I decided to give it a try, it wasn't hard or over soft to the touch, just right. Cut and lit very easy, first half inch ash was dark but then regulated to perfect whiteish grey. Burn was absolutely even, no uneven edges.
Ash held together great even as windy as it was tonight.
Draw was effortless with plenty of light smoke, not overpowering and thick as some maduro's I've had. (5$ Partagas black labels so far)
Taste was tops, filled mouth with flavor that I can say reminded me of the sweetness, sweetness, sweetness of marinated wood-smoked chicken. Yeah , I know its stupid sounding but I'm a good ol' boy who loves smokin' grills. The flavor never stopped beginning to end, it was so easy to take , never burned my nose as some smoke does.
It lasted a little over an hour, I thought it went fast and was wanting more when it was over but was completely satisfied. A great smoke all together.
Would I buy one myself, OH HELL YEAH, and Holt's had a good price listed for a box. These will see me again ! Loved it !
If thats not what ya'all take as a review, oh well I can only get better as I go !
THANKS MONTE....matt
